WORCESTER is due for three straight days of rain this week, despite it being the height of summer.

The latest Met Office forecast for the area is for today and Wednesday, following on from Monday's downpours.

According to the Met Office, today (June 11) will see rain from the early hours of the morning through to late afternoon, with June 12 set to see rain from the early hours through to the evening.

Thursday will see light rain and cloud with Friday set to be sunny in the afternoon.

Elsewhere in the country, yellow weather warnings are in place for the South of Wales and Cornwall, with an amber weather warning of flooding in place for London and the South East for the first half of the week.

The alert states that homes and businesses are likely to be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

This weekend saw Storm Miguel sweep over Worcestershire with rain and thunder seen across the county and into Herefordshire.

When the storm hit the county on Friday, bringing with it strong wind and rain, it brought down trees in some places and disrupted travel.
