SIR – I was, personally, quite pleased that the police have chosen to take action against the young cyclists that have been causing disruption in Worcester city centre.
The city simply isn’t the place for doing wheelies and pulling stunts.
Even as a cyclist myself, I am wary of these kind of riders not looking where they are going. They present a danger to pedestrians, drivers and other cyclists, not to mention themselves.
A decent hybrid/road bike can be purchased cheaply. These kind of bikes are much more practical for urban usage and can go much faster.
It is about time that these young people grew out of their mountain bikes/BMXs and stopped treating the city centre like a giant park.
