POLICE have warned about bike thefts after a pedal cycle was stolen from behind a restaurant in the city centre.
The bicycle, valued at approximately £200, was taken from the rear of a restaurant in Castle Street at around 3pm on Tuesday (June 25).
The make of the bike is unknown, however it is custom made and has a blue and white arch frame, black saddle and a handle bar made from copper-like metal.
Following the theft, Cathedral Safer Neighbourhood Team has reiterated that bicycles are "one of the most targeted items by thieves" and said there has been an increase in such thefts in recent years.
With "more than half of the bikes" stolen from the owner’s property, officers have reminded cyclists to use good quality locks and chains that meet "sold secure" standard.
See the Crime & Safety section of the West Mercia Police site for more.
If you have any information about the theft in Castle Street, call police on 101 and quote reference number 759S of June 25.
