A PRESTIGIOUS jazz festival gets underway this weekend with one lucky winner getting two free tickets to the internationally-renowned event, courtesy of the event organisers.

This year’s festival, which kicks off on June 27, features a host of bands across a four day celebration of Jazz, Swing and Blues.

The event also features the 11th year of Best of Young Jazz, which shows off the exceptional talents of young players from across the Midlands.

With 50 concerts over four days starting on Thursday evening a weekend or day ‘stroller’ ticket gives access to every venue; a vintage themed Jazz Parade, the ever popular, packed Jazz Church Service, The Fringe at the Swan, featuring a riverside performance and busking stage, camping and parking, stalls, food and drink.

The winner of the our competition to win a pair of weekend passes, plus camping for two people was Chris Martin, who has won the package, worth £230.

Included in the package is entry to all 50 festival gigs plus the Best of Young Jazz programme.

Mr Martin was picked at random from over 40 people who entered the competition, which was run jointly between our sister paper, the Malvern Gazette, and the organisers of the festival.

Free car parking for Upton Jazz ticket holders is available on Fish Meadow, with riverboat trips for Upton Jazz ticket holders only
