THE city is gearing up for its annual carnival on Saturday.

Costumes are being altered, dance routines honed as the floats prepare for the extravaganza.

There will also be plenty of fun for all the family at the Carnival Village on Pitchcroft.

The parade itself will depart from Pitchcroft at 3pm on Saturday, following the traditional 1.7 mile route around Croft Road, Dolday, Deansway, College Street, City Walls Road, Pump Street, High Street, the Cross, Foregate Street, and Castle Street before returning to the Carnival Village at Pitchcroft, with rolling road closures to allow people to enjoy a safe and happy day.

The parade is set to finish at Pitchcroft around 5pm.
