SISTERS who stole £1,000-worth of loot from Debenhams, a man who destroyed a nightclub’s fruit machine and another accused of stealing a police-owned bicycle – here are some of the cases heard in magistrates court on Thursday.

Loredana Constantin, 25, and Sara Constantin, 20, claimed the clothes, jewellery and fragrances stolen from the Worcester store were to be sold from a car boot after the thefts on June 18.

The pair, from Dudley, were described in the hearing notes as part of a gang of "professional thieves travelling a distance to steal".

They were given 12-week prison sentences, suspended for 18 months, as well as electronically tagged curfews.

The defendants must remain indoors at their home in Wellington Road, Tipton, from 8pm to 8am daily for three months.

Nicholas Collins smashed up a fruit machine, worth an estimated £1,000, at Priors Croft Night Club in Malvern on June 15 – and must pay £500 compensation.

The 34-year-old was also given a community, which includes a six-week curfew with electronic monitoring.

The defendant must remain indoors at his home address in Moat Crescent, Malvern, from 9pm to 6am every day.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of John Conners, who is accused of stealing a bicycle owned by West Mercia Police force.

Conners did not show up for his court appearance on Thursday (July 4), following the alleged theft on June 4 in Evesham.

The 24-year-old is listed as living in Severn Acres, Pershore, and goes by several aliases, including Nonny.

A warrant has also been issued for the arrest of Harry Brazil, who is accused of stealing an exhaust and then failing to show up in court.

Harry Brazil is charged with theft and failure to surrender, after allegedly pinching Angeli Avram's exhaust, costing £100, on June 13 in Broadway, Worcestershire.

The 26-year-old, of Marlstone Drive, Gloucester, then failed to attend his hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court.

Pellegrino Abbatiello must pay £500 compensation to a man he beat up in Worcester.

The 40-year-old, of Dinchall Road, Worcester, must also do 120 hours of unpaid work after the assault on December 12 last year.

Faye Barlow, accused of using threatening behaviour, has been remanded on bail after failing to appear in court when a new date was set for later this month, with the condition she is not to contact witnesses.

The 41-year-old is accused of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment on June 1 in Evesham.

Two other charges are in relation to failures to surrender to custody at magistrates court.

Barlow, of Marymans Road, Evesham, is due to attend court on July 23.

Homeless man Stephen Carey faces a trial before magistrates next month in relation to alleged threats made to a man on June 3, after he pleaded not guilty.

The 32-year-old, who lives at St Paul's Hostel in Tallow Hill, Worcester, must not contact the alleged victim or two other witnesses prior to the hearing on August 16.

The court has appointed solicitor Mark Turnbull for cross examination of the alleged victim and witnesses.

The CPS are at liberty to vacate the trial by July 25 if civilian witnesses are not available.
