FARE dodgers, shoplifters and more appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court last week.

Here are some of the cases heard in the city:

David Pace, of Wylds Lane, Worcester appeared before magistrates on Thursday July 11, after stealing a three cans of Carlsberg Special Brew from a supermarket.

He was stopped outside a Morrisons store with the cans and was drinking from one of them at the time.

Pace, 54, was fined £5.99 in compensation to Morrisons and given an eight-week curfew.

Matthew Day, aged 24, of St John’s, Worcester, pleaded guilty to exceeding a 40mph speed limit on the A4103 Fromes Hill towards Worcester, in August 2018.

Day was fined £100 with a surcharge of £30 and costs of £85. He has been given three points on his licence.

Kevin Holmes, of Abbey Road, Malvern was made to pay £88.50 after getting on a train without paying for a ticket, with intent to avoid the payment.

Holmes, 26, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 8.

Oliver Fearnall, of Meadow Walk, Droitwich pleaded guilty at Worcester Magistrates Court to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Police were called to a Droitwich property where Fearnall, 27, had been banging on the door. On police's arrival he appeared drunk and was confrontational towards officers.

Fearnall apologised in court and received fines totalling £245.

Ross Tudge, of Quay Lane, Hanley Castle pleaded not guilty to assaulting a male by beating him on April 14. Worcester Magistrates Court found him guilty of this offence. He was also found guilty of beating a female on April 14.

Tudge pleaded guilty to breaking five windows at the home of one of the victims.

He has been remanded on bail until July 18 when he will appear at Worcester Magistrates Court again for sentencing.

He was told he must not contact three individuals including the two victims.

Tudge, 25, also must not enter Old Street, Upton-on-Severn, except to pass in his car.
