STAFF and visually-impaired volunteers from Warriors Community Foundation have completed an 84-mile trek along the length of Hadrian’s Wall.

The intrepid walkers set out from Newcastle and completed their fund-raising trek at Bowness-on-Solway.

The walkers aim to raise £3,000 through their efforts which will support and grow the Community Foundation’s programmes for visually-impaired sport, including the pioneering Hugby initiative.

Warriors have created an adapted game of rugby for everyone who wants to play the game. Hugby, is their latest form of the game for people who have visual impairment and those who have lost their sight. They work closely with all sectors of the community to engage as many people as possible.

“I’ve walked 84 miles with some of the most inspiring people you will meet. We faced the challenge together, conquered fears, motivated each other and finished as a team,” said Simon Northcott, Warriors Community Foundation Disability Lead.

“We’re already planning next year’s challenge. Nothing is impossible. Thank you so much for your donations everyone. It’s been a tough but great week and everyone has been really generous.”
