“IT seems fair,” say Worcester News readers after a man was told to clear up his own urine with a mop and bucket outside Worcester Foregate Street station.
The man was asked to clean the area after he was spotted urinating and swearing at the station on Sunday at 1.02pm.
A photo was posted on Twitter by the British Transport Police for the Three Counties, and they also commented: “I agree it is unacceptable, hence why the embarrassment of cleaning it hopefully will make him think twice next time. Especially when the toilets were accessible.”
The story had sparked a huge reaction from readers, with some agreeing with the “embarrassing” punishment, while others claimed it wasn’t punishment enough.

Ray Briana said: “No. People who pee in a public place should face an on the spot fine for £100, clean it up and should be shamed on Facebook. For God's sake there are toilets on the station.”
Vincent Hayes said: “They should also pay a victim surcharge of £5,000 and two years behind bars and six strokes of the Birch.”
Oliver Whyman said: “Clearly, why should someone else have to do it?”
Worcester4life said: “Perfect. No need to name and shame as well people. I think moping up your own urine was embarrassing enough for the guy.”
Cityslicker1955 said: “I just don’t know how anyone could do that in broad daylight in public? There are numerous places within a minutes’ walk which have toilets. How on earth are these people brought up when they think that’s normal behaviour?”
Lynch Dayus said: “It’s better than dragging it through the courts at the expense of the tax payers or even a fine that again will be paid by us tax payers, just give him a mop. Embarrassing punishments are better than monetary ones.”
Matthew Fearnley said: “It seems fair. And I bet the public embarrassment when he did it was great.”
