THE M5 southbound has re-opened after being closed following a fatal crash.

The motorway was closed between junctions 10 and 11 southbound after a motorist reported a car down an embankment off the motorway shortly before 5.30am.

After emergency services attended, the man inside was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have established that the man got on the M5 at junction 4A at Bromsgrove and travelled down the M5 between 10.30pm and 11.30pm last night before the collision happened.

Police closed the motorway while they investigated at the scene. It re-opened at 2.30pm.
