YELLOW weather warnings have been issued with forecasts of winds between 30 and 40 miles per hour affecting Worcestershire over the weekend.
Frank Hill from the Met Office said: “We aren’t the wettest part of the country by any means. If there is any rain over night in Wales, that will eventually run down in two or three days to lead to some flooding in the Severn. After this rain is cleared this morning there will be a few showers and it will be quite windy, with sunny intervals from today into Saturday and Sunday.”
Mr Hill said there could high winds this weekend. Mill Hill said: “But the weather doesn’t look to bad.”
“This area of rain will be pushing north east across the country tonight and tomorrow so the north will still be wet whereas in the midlands it should clear during the morning and the rest of the day has sunny intervals and just a few showers.”
Tributes to 'amazing' Inkberrow mum who died in crashRain warnings have also been issued across the country with some areas expecting flooding. However Mr Hill said: “I’m not sure about the flood warnings. I don’t think this area will get any local floods. After that it looks like it is going cool again with temperatures of about 18 and few showers. So back to normal from Monday afternoon.”
Yellow wind warnings could mean delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, with some bus and train services affected, and some journeys taking longer.
Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are expected with fallen trees possible. Some short term loss of power and other services could occur.
