A DRUNK man who was thrown out of a city nightclub began kicking the front door and shouting at passersby before being arrested.

Mark Lampett was escorted out of Mode in Angel Place on July 13 by security staff before they were forced to call police.

The 49-year-old, who represented himself in court earlier this month, apologised for his actions, adding:"There's no excuse for that kind of behaviour."

He said he is seeking medical help for depression and anxiety.

After accepting a charge of being drunk and disorderly in public, he was ordered to pay a £138 fine and £167 in costs.

The court heard Lampett was also charged earlier this year with drunk and disorderly and other offences.

He has £1,297 outstanding, which he owes the court in unpaid fines and costs.
