Music fans are invited to the biggest Motown celebration of the year when Detroit Magic arrives at the Swan Theatre this September.

The show aims to “recreate the magic that launched the stars: Diana Ross, The Temptations, Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and many more”.

A spokesman said: “Seventeen years after its inception, Detroit Magic has evolved into a blistering show that has entertained tens of thousands of people.

“Detroit Magic will propel you through two hours of the greatest Motown and Northern Soul hits of all time, with boundless energy, nifty dance moves and the attention to detail needed to accurately recreate the sound of the world’s most popular record label.”

Featuring over 30 classic hits from the legendary record label Motown and the era of Soul, including Get Ready, Ain’t Too Proud to Beg, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted, Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours, Blame it on the Boogie, Soul Man, I Want You Back, Reach Out I’ll Be There, Baby Love, RESPECT, Stop In The Name Of Love, I Hear a Symphony and many more, “this feel-good show is guaranteed to get audiences’ toes tapping”.

The spokesman added: “The band’s six-piece line-up comprises Michael Brooks and Natalie Knight on lead vocals, Ashley Blake on keyboard, Bob Southall on saxophone, Richard Skilbeck on horns and Russell Collins on backing vocals and drums. Together they meticulously lay down the grooves and flawlessly capture the vocal energy and raw emotion of those super soul hits!
