A WOMAN motorcyclist hurt in a crash in Halesowen is fighting for her life in hospital today (Monday).

The air ambulance was scrambled after the bike hit the central reservation on Manor Way, just after 12.20pm on Saturday, September 14.

Police said the motorcyclist was still in a critical condition in hospital today.

She was assessed at the scene by paramedics before she was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

There was gridlock in the town as the A456 was blocked in both directions.

The Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter from Cosford, an ambulance, paramedic officer and critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff arrived to find a motorcyclist, a woman, in a critical condition.

"Crews administered trauma care on scene before she was transferred by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”

Police also attended the crash. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said today: "The woman remains in a critical condition in hospital."
