TV presenter Davina McCall, BBC MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace and TV chef Ainsley Harriott are amongst the celebrities calling for the nation to put the kettle on and host a Brew Together fundraising event.

The is from Monday 7 - Sunday 13 October, to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK.

Held at home, in a community hall or at work, it’s a chance to catch up with friends, family and colleagues over a cup of tea and make a donation to Bowel Cancer UK to help stop people dying of the disease.

Hoping to inspire fundraisers, celebrities including Davina McCall, Gregg Wallace, Ainsley Harriott, Nadia Sawalha and Eric Lanlard have donated their favourite tea time recipes. These mouth-watering creations include: chocolate parfait terrine with fresh raspberries, pear tarte tatin, white chocolate and raspberry marquise, and a crunchy oat and yoghurt pudding.

Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK and the second biggest cancer killer. Every year over 42,000 people are diagnosed with the disease and more than 16,000 people die from it. However bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early.

TV Presenter and creator of ‘Own Your Goals’ Davina McCall said: “I’m proud to be supporting Bowel Cancer UK’s Brew Together. Every 15 minutes someone is diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK. By taking time out of your day to hold a Brew Together event your donations will ensure Bowel Cancer UK can continue to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. Nutritionally balanced and packed with fibre, my crunchy oat and yogurt layers are guaranteed to go down a treat with your Brew Together guests.”

Luke Squires, Director of Fundraising at Bowel Cancer UK, said: “Whether you bake Gregg Wallace’s pear tarte tatin or whip up Davina’s crunchy oat and yoghurt pudding, take an hour out of your day to hold a Brew Together event. The money you raise will help fund vital services and lifesaving research.

“It’s easy to organise and everyone can get involved. Just put the kettle on, come together and help us stop people dying from bowel cancer.”
