Simply reRed is nothing to do with changing one's hair colour again, and everything to do with pop nostalgia.

Even better - the tribute to Mick Hucknall and Simply Red is coming to Worcester's Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, October 10 at 7.30pm.

The band consists of David Duckmanton (lead vocals), Paul Brittain (electric & acoustic guitars / vocals), Andy Hodge (bass/vocals), Andy Wilder (drums), Gemma Buckenham (trumpet / percussion / vocals), Orlando La Rose (saxophones / EWI) and Adam Day (keyboards).

A spokesman said: "In their Holding Back the Years show you can expect all of the hits, including Money’s Too Tight To Mention, Stars, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Fairground, Something Got Me Started and many more!

"With more than thirty Top 40 singles and several of the best-selling albums of the last four decades to choose from, this world class seven piece band recreates every slick groove and perfect melody from Mick Hucknall’s remarkable global career in an unparalleled display of authenticity and style, guaranteed to keep the audience singing all night."

Simply Red were a band that broke in the Eighties while effectively breaking the mould.

In an age of over-produced pop singles lacking soul, like products from a relentless music factory, Hucknall's soaring soulful voice was like an echo from the past and a glimpse of the future, especially on the band's first hit single, Holding Back The Years.

This mournful, autobiographical ballad was number one in the both the the UK and the USA, back in 1985.
