A House History workshop will be run at The Hive.

The workshop will guide you through how to investigate the history of your home including how to find documents and search the catalogues and indexes to find the story behind buildings.

Stories of local buildings will be used during the workshop with examples of sources and searches, that will show participants the process they can apply to their home or other buildings of interest.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities at Worcestershire County Council, said: “Our homes and where we live can have a hidden history and we often get people visiting The Hive to ask about their house’s past.

“This workshop will allow people to learn more about the many sources we have that can help you discover the story behind the building and learn more about the people that might have lived there.”

The Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service holds lots of documentary evidence to help discover the story behind buildings. This including maps, directory, photos and census.

The event will be held between 10am-1pm on Wednesday, October 23.
