HERE are some notable cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court over the last week.

Billy Joe Sheppard, 21, of Oak Avenue, Worcester, appeared before the court on October 10 charged with taking a vehicle without the owner's consent and driving dangerously.

The charges relate to December 15, 2017, when Sheppard allegedly took a Red Ford Transit panel van in Worcester and drove it, causing damage to a grey Fiat Punto, a blue MG, a blue Renault Megane, a white Mitsubishi Outlander and a black Renault Scenic and to property. The second charge relates to the same night, and alleges that Sheppard drove dangerously in Newtown Road and Ronkswood Hill.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a date was set for the case to go to trial at Worcester Crown Court on November 7.

Samantha Skipp appeared via videolink from HMP Eastwood Park to face two charges of stealing passports.

The charges state that Skipp, 38, stole the passports, belonging to Isla-Mai Robertson and Joseph Endacott between June 3, 2019 and June 30, 2019. Skipp indicated a guilty plea to the charges, and she was given a three month concurrent prison sentence, as well as pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Arno Ferreira, 47, of Blacksmiths Lane, Broadway, appeared before magistrates charged with drink driving.

Ferreira was caught on April 7, this year while driving a Fiat Ducato in Cheltenham Road in Beckford. A blood sample taken from Ferreira showed that he had 212 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Ferreira pleaded guilty to the charge, and magistrates put a community order in place requiring him to attend rehabilitation activity sessions. He was also disqualified from driving for two years, with a requirement to carry out a drink driving course.

He was also fined £220.
