A DEVELOPER has spoken out to reassure residents over their concerns about a plan to build several three-storey townhouses in the city.

Residents in Pope Iron Road in Worcester raised concerns about loss of light and parking issues because of Lockley Homes plan to build eight homes.

Karl Lockley, joint managing director of Lockley Homes, said the original plan for Victorian and Georgian-style homes was altered to fit in with the homes in Gheluvelt Mews and the council suggested the L-shape to allow more sunlight into the street.

Mr Lockley said he sympathised with residents over parking issues but said that lorries had been regularly using the streets to make deliveries to the factory where the homes would sit.

He said: “By using this site for housing, this has alleviated this particular issue, and we would also point out that for visitors to the street, there is a public car park with more than 20 spaces in Waterworks Road which is close to Pope Iron Road."
