Evesham’s most famous son, Alistair McGowan, makes his first ever appearance at the Theatrebarn in Bretforton tomorrow, Saturday October 26.
After years of forging a successful career as an impressionist, comedian and writer, Alistair McGowan decided to take up playing the piano.
Alistair’s piano skills were such that in 2017 he released an album that surprised him by reaching number 1 in the UK classical music charts.
When friends suggested he devise a show combining piano, impressions and comedy Alistair laughed at them and said it would never work, but nevertheless, devised the show, and it’s the audience who is laughing now.
Alistair McGowan said: “I can’t wait to perform in the beautiful, historic Theatrebarn. In the 1970s and 80s, my mother and father attended many shows from top-notch performers. Bringing my piano show to this beautiful venue in Bretforton has extra poignancy.”
