SIR – Re the Chaplain’s Blog (Sometimes only a swear word will do, October 28), yet again, such wise words.
Today, I remember my lovely mum who passed away three years ago, just one week short of her 99th birthday.

A long life of so many historical and socio-economic changes, but the love of her family never waned. So, I get to cherish the memories.
Then, I read the Chaplain’s Blog and realise how blessed I am. I cannot imagine the trauma of the loss of their baby son. A lifetime of grieving for the loss of his milestones in life and my heart goes out to the parents.
I was also brought up not to swear, but some things are just so unbearable... only a swear word will suffice.
In this crazy world, quiet human suffering goes on unnoticed.
