A MAN found dead in the river may be linked to the attacks on two women who sustained serious injuries.

Following reports of a man seen in the River Avon on Wednesday November 20 a search by police and other emergency services was conducted throughout the day.

Detective Inspector Ed Slough said: “At around 4.45pm the body of man in his 30s was found in the river and was pronounced dead at the scene."

“The cause and circumstances of the man’s death is now subject of a Coroner’s inquest.

“There remains an investigation regarding an incident in Forrest Gate, Evesham in which two women were attacked. Both women were taken to hospital with serious injuries and continue to receive medical care. We are continuing with our investigation regarding the link between these two incidents, and are not currently searching for anyone else in connection with the assault.”
