SANTA will be heading to a street near you in the run up to Christmas.

Excited children will be listening for the sound of sleigh bells as the annual tour heads to Worcester streets throughout December.

Santa will be accompanied on his rounds by Worcester Lions members, friends and Guide and Scout groups, with money raised going to good causes including the Community Grants Scheme, supported by the Worcester News.

A Worcester Lions spokesman said: “As ever, we are unable to cover everywhere we would like to. We hope those areas that we are having to disappoint will understand.”

The tour begins on December 1 in St Peter's East. The sleigh then heads to Norton on December 2, Henwick and Hallow on December 3, Dines Green on December 4, Cherry Orchard on December 5 and Cormorant Rise and Lower Wick on December 6.

On December 7 the tour moves on St Peter's West and Primrose Crescent, before a trip to a St Richard’s Hospice fundraiser near Browns at the Quay on December 8, Lower Wick on December 8, St Peter's West on December 9, Ronkswood and Tolladine on December 10 and St John’s on December 11.

The sleigh’s tour will then visit Nunnery Wood - Baynham Drive on December 12, and stay in the area for a stop in Hillery Road on December 13.

Father Christmas’ sleigh heads to Blanquettes on December 14, Warndon Villages and The Berkeleys on December 15, Claines on December 16 and Brickfields and Warndon on December 17.

On December 18 the sleigh will be in Long Meadow, on December 19 there is a stop in The Harleys, before a return visit to The Berkeleys on December 20.

The tour concludes just before Christmas on December 21 in Holt Heath.
