This was the first time Marion Barker, a resident at the care home who is in her 90s, had seen a reindeer.
Emma Crompton, activity coordinator at Bradshaw Manor Care Home, who booked the reindeer, said: "It was something she [Marion] never imagined she would be able to still do in her 90’s.

"The residents have been looking forward to the event for weeks.
"Christmas should be a magical time of year which is no different for our residents. It was a lovely treat for our staff as well and there families who work so hard over the Christmas period to ensure our residents have a lovely time."

Bradshaw Manor, run by Barchester Healthcare, provides nursing care and dementia care for 65 residents from respite care to long term stays.
Emma added: "The residents are still talking about the visit.
"This time of year can be very lonely for the elderly, this included those living in care settings. It is so important we have a variety of activities available for our residents.
"We have some lovely relatives who constantly support the home and our events. Activities such as the reindeer visit means our families can join in and keep making precious memories with their loved ones.
"We have had a variety of animals the past four months alone visit the home including sheep, donkeys, snakes and now reindeers. The possibilities are endless.
"We are always looking to be that little bit different."
