A COUPLE have welcomed their ‘miracle’ twins to the world.

Priyanka Singh-Gadaria 44 and her husband, Ritesh, 42, welcomed daughter Radhika (3.9 lbs) and son Parth (4.1 lbs) at just after 5pm, two of eight babies born at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on Christmas Day.

Mrs Singh-Gadaria said: “We have been trying for ten years to have our first child.

“As a couple, we are always positive and we knew in our hearts that children would eventually come and they did.

The twins were born one week premature of their due date.

Mr Gadaria said: “When we first got the news we were expected twins it was overwhelming and then them being born on Christmas Day - it’s just surreal.

“It’s still sinking in.”

“The nurses and doctors are all amazing.

“Nothing was too much trouble and they made sure my wife was well looked after at all times.

“The nurses were very busy on Christmas Day but we still received excellent care.

“One nurse was meant to finish her shift at 5pm but she stayed on until gone 6pm to make sure my wife and children were taken care of.”

The family intend to go to their house in Redditch in the next day or so, after routine checks are carried out on the twins.

Meanwhile, proud parents Marius, 37 and Mohica, 29, welcomed their first child, boy Iustim Andrei Mihaila, weighing 5.7 lbs at 2:45am.

He was early of his December 29 due date.

Originally from Romania, they now live in Worcester.

Mr Mihaila said: “We are so proud - he’s our Christmas miracle.

“Our family in Romania have not visited at the moment.

“I think the Brexit issue could cause some problems for them with their visit.

Shannon Whitbread, 26 ,and Stuart Watkins, 31, (inset) from Kidderminster, welcomed Harlee-Jae David, weighting four pounds at 8:07pm.

Ms Whitbread said: “Harlee was born at 34 weeks.

“I started being induced on Monday [December 23] as there were a couple of complications with him.

“It all happened so quick.

“My grandad died in June this year and his middle name was David so I’ve given my son that as his middle name in tribute. My nan was over the moon when |I told her.” Mr Watkins joked: “Shannon wanted to watch the one-off special of Gavin and Stacey on Christmas Day but she was a bit busy at the time.

“We’ll watch it when we get home on BBC iPlayer.” Davina Hosseini, midwife at Worcestershire Royal Hospital said: “There were less babies born compared to Christmas Day last year (13) but we’ve still been busy, working around the clock.”
