SIR – Being a big fan of Christopher Fowler I have been attempting to borrow his latest book England’s Finest, which came out in October 2019, from the Hive Library.
He is one of the UK’s top authors having published many books which are always the libraries shelves.
However after searching their catalogue online and now having just spoken to a member of their staff I am informed it is not stocked by them the words “our resources” being mentioned.
My question is why would you they not purchase copies of this?
I am at a loss to understand this, are they so short of funds not to do so?
At the moment I do not feel inclined to pay £11 plus for a copy of a book by an author whose publications I have always been able to borrow from them.
