SIR – I am writing in defence of the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

After spending the last 18 months having treatment there, I wish it to be known that the Royal does not deserve the reputation it has acquired.

Both my husband and I have always been treated with respect and nothing was ever too much trouble.

The staff are run off their feet and they do their best for everyone with a smile.

Alright I know that things are not perfect, but that’s life. You can spend hours on a trolley, but you are not left alone!

The hospital is clean and attention to detail is second to none.

I think it is time to start praising the hospital, doctors and nurses for their care and humility and to give it a good review.

The trouble is the hospital is not big enough and the Government and NHS are to blame as there are too many bosses and not enough staff and the hospital covers such a large area.

I think in today’s world everybody thinks they should be first in the queue – we live in a very selfish age and they complain too much.

A little praise goes a long way.
