PRIMARY school pupils from across Worcester recently enjoyed a morning of competitive athletics at Bishop Perowne CE College, organised by Year 9 GCSE PE students.
One hundred and twenty children from St Barnabas CE Primary, St George’s CE Primary, Perdiswell Primary and Northwick Manor Primary enjoyed activities including foam javelin, chest throw with a weighted ball and vertical, long and triple jumps.
St Barnabas CE Primary School came out on top.
Mark Pollard, headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College, said: “Judging by the cheering that was going on in the sports hall throughout the morning, they all thoroughly enjoyed an example of the type of sports lessons they will receive when they move up to secondary school. Our students worked extremely hard on leading the activities and translating information learnt in the classroom to put on a fantastic morning of sport, well done to all.”
