A MONSTER production – Shrek The Musical – is landing at Worcester’s Swan theatre this summer.
Fun for the whole family, the tale of that loveable green ogre Shrek, is being presented by a 70-strong cast of WODYS (Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society Youth Section), at the Swan, from Tuesday to Saturday, August 4 to 8.
Based on the story from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, the musical is set in a mythical ‘once upon a time’ sort of land and turns the world of fairy tales upside down.
The show follows unlikely hero Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey set off on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona from her tower, guarded by a fire breathing love-sick dragon.
Add the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairy tale misfits, and a biscuit with attitude, and the audience has been promised a show to delight of ages.
Tickets are on sale at the theatre box office in CrownGate on 01905 611427 or via wodystickets@hotmail.co.uk
