A FLURRY of comments have been posted on the Worcester News website after a woman was forced to pay double the cost in bus travel after a ‘misunderstanding.’

Anna Watmore, who was with her seven-month-old baby, said she was left distressed after a mix-up with her Worcester City 2Trip ticket during a trip into the city. The mix-up comes after First Bus changed its ticket system so customers can buy two singles on the FirstGroup app, rather than a return ticket option after the company said this method is usually cheaper. The issue meant she had to buy an additional Worcester Day Return ticket for £4.50, after her original ticket was invalid.

Truth is out said: “Think about getting a job , then you would not be getting “disgusted, distressed, and depressed all day” about £4.50.”

However, Funky Chapstick responded: “Well you are a font of empathy, aren’t you? I presume you didn’t have a mother.”

Shocking world said: “She’s a new mum who has had to spend double what she should have. Maybe depressed is a bit far, but then again, a lot of people have depression and little things like this can trigger it. Stop being so small minded. Horrible things affect different people. Your life might be amazing, but others struggle.”

Argue with facts said: “You lot are a real bunch of uncaring folks this week aren’t you? How many of you have signed up to something/bought something online and not read the pages of T&C’s. I know before you jump we all should but we don’t. This was a silly misunderstanding that could have been cleared up easily. Common sense might have come from the driver informing her what to do and wait 15 minutes that’s easy isn’t it. To some folks £4.50 is quite a lot of money to lose.”

Cherry Perks said: “I feel for this young mother. It’s a disgrace to pay so much for public transport. I hope this mum gets a refund and better service next time.”
