A SECOND Co-operative shop has been closed for a makeover.
The Co-op in Dines Green has been closed since February 2 whilst the work is being completed.
The Gresham Road store is planned to re-open on Thursday, 20 February, following a £550,000 programme of investment.
The move takes the Co-op’s combined investment in its stores in Worcester to over £1m this month, as its Ronkswood store is also embarking on a six figure refurb.

A pop-up Co-op shop is continuing to serve the community with a wide range of every day essentials while its Dines Green store is closed.
Adam Key, Co-op store manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to invest such a significant amount in our Dines Green store – it really will have a great new look and range, and I am confident it will enable the Co-op to better serve our community.
"We are also pleased that our pop-up shop is proving popular as we continue to serve our customers with a wide range of every day essentials throughout the works.
"Our aim is to establish the store at the heart of local life – it is all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new into their new-look Co-op store.”
The new and improved Co-op will run on 100 per cent renewable electricity, and see an enhanced in-store bakery, and increased focus on fresh foods, meal ideas, food-to-go, award-winning wines, every day essentials, and, the Co-op’s new vegan brand, GRO.
The store also brings a funding boost though the Co-op’s Membership scheme - Members receive a 5% reward when they purchase own brand products and services, with the Co-op donating a further 1% to local community causes.
The temporary pop-up shop opens between 8am-6pm, daily.
The Dines Green store will open between 6am-10pm – seven days a week – following its relaunch.
