Along with Mark Knopfler, John Illsley was a founder member of the legendary band Dire Straits who, during their time together, sold over 120 million albums.

And the great news is, he's coming to the Huntingdon Hall in Worcester on Thursday March 12, at 7.30pm.

A spokesman said: "The evening will feature 'classics from Dire Straits history and include a Q&A session led by Paul Cummins (ex-Dire Straits management).

"John will reveal the story of the band from its humble beginnings in a council flat, on their journey to playing all over the world to millions of fans, and performing and working with some of the world’s most influential musicians and producers."

The spokesman added: "John will also be joined on stage by fellow band musicians who will play music from the whole Dire Straits catalogue. It promises to be a special, intimate evening looking into the life and times of one of the biggest rock & roll bands of all time."
