Hear classics performed by a great musical partnership, at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall.

Award-winning vocalist, Jacqui Dankworth, will be joined by acclaimed pianist-vocalist, Charlie Wood "for a unique concert of duets celebrating a century of song".

And one of the themes will be two is better than one.

A spokesman said: "Inspired by some of the great musical partnerships, such as Ray Charles and Betty Carter, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, the concert will feature numbers including: Alone Together, A Foggy Day and You’ve Got a Friend plus so many more."

According to one critic, “Jacqui Dankworth is one of the classiest acts in British jazz singing”.

She has certainly has a remarkable pedigree, being the daughter of jazz singer Cleo Laine and musician John Dankworth.

The spokesman said: "Her concert appearances and her stylistically diverse recordings showcase her virtuosic and effortless mastery of a wide spectrum of genres. Known primarily as a jazz singer, Jacqui also draws on folk, soul, blues and classical influences. Her voice has been described as 'multi-faceted' and 'incomparable' by The Times.

"Jacqui is also an accomplished actor, having performed leading parts with the Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and in London's West End - such as in Steven Sondheim’s “Into The Woods”.

A lot of fans are really into Charlie Wood. As a Jazz Times critic put it, "Remember the first time you heard Dylan, or Springsteen, or Costello, or Waits? Charlie Wood delivers that same jolt”.

A spokesman said: "Charlie's work has earned him numerous musical accolades, including the N.A.R.A.S. Premier Player Award for Keyboards and the Beale St. Merchants' Association Entertainer of the Year award. He has toured extensively in Europe and the U.K. to promote his original music and has performed on television and radio programs across the continent."
