A HOTEL has been thanked for offering paramedics a warm and dry place to wait while on standby, enabling them to quickly respond to people who need help.

Peter Bowles from West Midlands Ambulance and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) tweeted after staff at Diglis Hotel in Worcester helped his team:

"Huge thanks to Diglis Hotel for their hospitality; providing us with somewhere warm and dry to standby, along with a hot drink!"

"This allows our second (HART) team (dedicated to flood operations) to respond quickly to the locality."

Caz Stooke from Diglis Hotel said the emergency services were responding to a paramedic call on the Diglis Towpath and were waiting for the emergency boat to come out when staff invited them in and gave them a cup of tea.

"They are working really hard and a little bit of compassion is necessary in this time, a bit of community spirit."
