OUR latest Behind the Business returns to where the feature first started, with a return to Warren Leggett of Warren’s Removals.

When we first covered Warren and his journey back in October 2018, he had quit his job to set up his own business.

Since then, the firm has been busy, relocating from its Wychbold location to Upton Warren, just a few minutes up the road.

It has expanded too, more than doubling its fleet of vehicles from four to 10.

Warren said: “We have moved premises because it is a much bigger space where we can park more vehicles.

“We have gone from strength to strength in the last year or so and we are at the stage now where we have 10 vehicles and more employees.

"The last time we spoke we didn’t have an office manager - I used to rush around trying to do it all myself, so it is a big help.”

Warren first set up his removals business after leaving his job at a logistics company in 2014.

At the beginning, he did pick-ups and drop-offs for friends at weekends, eventually deciding he could start his own business doing it full-time.

One of the things Warren, 34, puts the success of the business down to is remaining grounded and staying linked to the community. He said: “I am a local guy striving to make it a success, so it is really important we stay grounded and true to who we are.

“We rely heavily on word of mouth and recommendations from clients for our business. We want to keep building and getting more clients so we can keep growing.

“I don’t want to get too corporate, so I am still doing removals and customer-facing jobs. When a company gets bigger, the standards can easily slip.”

Warren’s Removals has been involved with several local charities in the last few years. In 2018, he took part in a charity skydive for for midlands-based charity Libby-Mae’s Angels.

More recently the company helped out with the St Richard’s Hospice Christmas Tree appeal, which raised more than £45,000.
