On the Government’s flood warning service, it says : “River levels are falling slowly, but remain high at Worcester river gauges. Peaks occurred at Worcester, Diglis, Kempsey on March 3. Further rainfall is forecast over the weekend which may cause river levels to rise again.”
A Worcester City Council spokesman said the clean up was under way as river levels had subsided with teams out on Henwick Parade and North Quay. The spokesman said: “River levels have come down, so teams have started on riverside paths. Our teams will be out in the coming days as river levels drops, and they can get to more paths.”
The spokesman added they workers hadn’t been able to make a start underneath Worcester Bridge yet, as levels are still too high there.
