A WORCESTER pub is appealing for donations to two city homelessness charities.
The Goodrest Tavern is collecting food supplies to be distributed between two local homelessness charities; Maggs Day Centre and St Paul’s Hostel.
The pub has been urging locals to donate non-perishable foods and drinks, such as pasta, soups, tinned vegetables and instant coffee, as well as everyday essentials like toilet rolls and other toiletries.
Craig Davis, pub manager, said: “I’ve lived in Worcester my entire life, so these charities serve people in a community that I love.
"Everyone is suffering at the moment, a situation that is only made worse if you have nowhere safe to stay and quarantine. This is a small gesture from the people of Worcester for those in need in the middle of this crisis.”
Hawthorne is a community pub operator which owns more than 700 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
