WORCESTERSHIRE County Council chairman Peter Tomlinson has said seeing the generous spirit of people is helping him through self isolation.

This paper recently revealed the 76-year-old and wife Ali were self isolating at their home in Ombersley, during the Covid-19 crisis.

The chairman said: “It is really heartening for us to see how the people of Worcestershire are reacting to the NHS call for volunteers.

"Just that fact has cheered us enormously and I am sure that many others in our situation now feel the same.

"Thank you the generous and caring residents of Worcestershire - I could not be prouder of the county I represent."
