THE number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Worcestershire has reached 201.

The figures, released daily by Public Health England and broken down by upper tier local authorities, were accurate up to April 1.

Of the NHS regions Midlands has 3,570, second on the list behind London with 7,121.

Birmingham has the most confirmed cases of all local authorities in the UK, with a total of 734 cases.

Elsewhere Warwickshire has 190, Gloucestershire has 172 and Herefordshire has 40.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK stands at 25,150 - 21,008 of those in England.

The Government is no longer testing people who are self-isolating with mild symptoms, so it is likely many cases may not be detected.
