SHOPS across the city have had to find new and inventive ways to keep businesses afloat and customers happy since the government imposed a lockdown a fortnight ago.

Many Worcester independents have risen to the challenge and started up delivery or online services.

Local toy shop Toys and Games of Worcester has gone from strength to strength since it started delivering to Worcester families a few short weeks ago.

Worcester News:

Owner, Tim Evans said: “We are truly humbled by all the orders and kind words from our customers.

“We have been inundated with orders. I’m desperately trying to update our website but please bear with us, we’re not an online store and nor do we want to be.

“We value our interactions too much to move in that direction, we are and will remain a traditional toy shop, we value your friendship, your custom and your conversation.

“We remain here for you. In these strangest of days we will deliver for free within Worcester, Kempsey, Powick, Hallow, Fernhill Heath and Whittington.

“We can also put things in the post if you’re further afield.”

Meanwhile, other businesses are also offering deliveries. Local cider makers have offered customers free deliveries.

For food items, Cost Less in Lowesmoor is also offering a delivery service. In a statement released online they said: “We would like to say we are still open in this pandemic. Our normal working hours still apply.

“We open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 8pm on Sunday. We also offer a home delivery service.

“You don’t have to come out, just message us on Facebook and we will bring your order to your door. We hope everyone stays safe.”
