IN her historic address to the nation on Sunday evening, the Queen said “we will succeed” in the battle to overcome coronavirus in Britain and that “better days will return”.

She commented on how people across the nation have shown amazing resilience and community spirit to rise to the challenges presented by Covid-19, and we have certainly seen that positive response in this area.

Just today, we are reporting how children from Tudor Grange Academy Worcester have been writing letters to several care homes while residents are in self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic. Jenna Butler, deputy headteacher at the school in Bilford Road, said: “We have a number of children who are still attending school as their parents are key workers. The children wanted to find a way to make a positive contribution to the local community so they have spent the day writing letters which will be sent out to local nursing homes.”

This is just one example of how the people of our county have responded with hope to the current situation.
