Testing for Coronavirus is now also available for social care staff, which is a big step forward in ensuring staff can return to work as soon as possible and therefore continue to provide care and support on the front-line says Worcestershire County Council.

The hard work and dedication shown by care staff across Worcestershire has been praised by Councillor Adrian Hardman.

Councillor Adrian Hardman, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Adult Social Care, said: “I’d like to thank staff for such a great effort during this outbreak, they have shown great flexibility in their roles and real dedication to those in need of their care.

“It’s not been easy, but our staff on the frontline have shown real bravery.

“On behalf of the people of Worcestershire, I’d like to say a huge thank you for all your efforts and commitment that you’ve shown.”

The council is working with partners across the county including district and parish councils and a range of care providers to protect and support the most vulnerable people at this time.

The council, alongside NHS colleagues, has also been working hard to ensure care providers have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Councillor Hardman, added: “I’d like to reassure everyone that the we’re working as hard as we can, during this difficult time to ensure we’re providing the best care possible.

“We’re working closely with a wide range of partners across the county and I’d like to thank them for the support they have shown, it’s really making a huge difference to people’s lives.”
