Staff Wellbeing Shops have opened for staff at Worcestershire Royal Hospitals.

Hardworking hospital staff can now get hold of snacks and other essentials (free of charge thanks to public donations) to support them on their shift.

Worcester News:

Jo Spicer, Liver Clinical Nurse Specialist said: “This is a wonderful idea. It’s very humbling to know that the local business/public are supporting us, it really does mean a lot to all the staff. Thank you”

The shops will be manned by hospital staff and volunteers who will manage donations and ensure that the shelves are kept well stocked.

Worcester News:

Jason Levy, Head of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our local communities – both individuals and companies – who are doing all they can to ensure that the key workers in our hospitals are able to get essential items as easily as possible at this unprecedented time.

“We are also keen to thank both existing staff at the hospitals – some of whom have been redeployed to assist in the shop – and volunteers, who are enabling us to open the doors seven days a week.”

Worcester News:

Alison Davis, Volunteer Manager Said: “The amount and variety of stock that we have been able to provide is just brilliant. Everything from Energy Bars to Pot Noodle!”

The shops are currently open once a day from 1pm to 2pm to manage current stock levels, with a view to extending this over the coming days.
