A PRE-school which has been described as having a “family feel” has been nominated for a Worcestershire Education Award.

The Lenches Pre-school, in Evesham, has been nominated for the Early Years Education Award. The pre-school is a community and charity run establishment which provides a service for children and their families in the village of Church Lench.

Natalie Waters, who submitted the nomination, said: “They have a very friendly and qualified team, who treats every child/family as an individual. They provide a range of activities and learning opportunities for all ages.

“Not only do they follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, they donate all of their fundraising on trips and visitors into the setting such as sign along, dance company and curtail capital opportunity.”

Manager Emilia Munro said: “We are delighted to hear our setting has been nominated for a Worcestershire Education Award in the Early Years sector. The Lenches Pre-school Group is a small setting in a beautiful village in the middle of the Lenches and is celebrating its 50th birthday.

“The hard work and dedication from all the staff, parents and the community over the year helped to maintain high standards of education and care. We help children to thrive and develop in a safe and happy environment. Being nominated for an award is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the hard work put into our setting by all involved.”

Ms Waters added: “They take time for staff, families and children. They open their door at every opportunity to share their knowledge and celebration with the local school and community. They are always happy to give back to the community as well as receive.

“I wouldn’t send my child anywhere else. They are so welcoming and friendly and deserve this high recognition. It feels like I am leaving my daughter with family every day."

The education awards ceremony was originally scheduled for June 25, however has now been confirmed to take place on October 21 at University Arena in Worcester.
