TRIBUTES are being paid to a young man from Worcester who has been named locally as the victim of a fatal crash.

Marlon Vella was killed in a crash on Primsland Way in Droitwich yesterday after his motorbike collided with a tree.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to York Avenue in Droitwich Spa at 4pm after a police officer came across a man lying on the ground next to a motorbike.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist. They were told by witnesses that the motorcyclist had collided with a tree in the incident.

“The man was found in a serious condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.

“However, sadly it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a helicopter,  the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene. 

Primsland Way in Droitwich was closed to traffic. 

Marlon Vella's Facebook page has been flooded with tributes from friends and family.

He was a popular figure who owned Vella Cutz in Fernhill Heath.

On Facebook, Worcester News readers expressed their sadness at the news.

Sophie-aka Tinkss wrote: "My love and thoughts with your family smiler - such a happy go lucky bloke.

"Your family and partner were blessed to have you and your friends were blessed to have known you! You'll be forever missed."

Claire Tilley said: "Condolences to the family; the lad was a good friend to both my sons."
