A FUNDRAISING appeal has been launched to help Oscar Saxelby-Lee's family while they are living in Singapore as he battles leukaemia.

Friends have set up a fundraising page which will support the family financially while Oscar is in Singapore. Jem Smith, friend of the family, has created the fundraising page, and so far, £4,463 has been raised.

We previously reported that Oscar is currently cancer free, after he received CAR-T therapy and a second bone marrow transplant from his dad, Jamie Lee.

Mum Olivia Saxelby and dad Jamie posted on the Hand in Hand for Oscar Page: “This is always something very difficult for us to share, especially during this difficult time for everyone. We’ve had so so much support during Oscar’s campaigns, that we can never thank you all enough for.

“Our lovely friend has started this fundraiser up as a little boost for us to continue living out here in Singapore whilst Oscar recovers and reaches good health to fly home.

“This was a lovely surprise to wake up to as she kindly jumped on the chance to help us in her very own way as we have been relying on the funds below. Please do not pop a penny inside if you cannot afford to. If anyone knows of any grants for families like ours, please could you get in touch? We’re a little in the dark with what can be helped with here.”

Oscar, aged six, left National University Hospital in Singapore on April 9 after spending six months at the hospital fighting off his Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

The little boy from St John’s is only the second child in the world to have received the specialist treatment.

Another funding page has been launched by Ruth Colarossi, who is raising money to help support the family with living expenses while they’re abroad. This page can be found on Facebook by searching Olivia Saxelby & Jamie Lee living expenses in Singapore.
