Isma Hussain, who lives on Chellow Grange Road, said the crash happened at around 8.08pm last night, when her mum rang the emergency services.

They arrived within around eight minutes.

The crash involved three vehicles - a white Audi, a red Toyota and a grey Mercedes - with the Audi ending up on its roof.

Multiple videos seen by the T&A show that the crash provoked a huge response from the emergency service.

Mrs Hussain described the crash as "horrifying" and left her and others at the scene in tears.

She added: "It was a horrific event and has left us all shook.

"I didn’t see the crash, me and my mum were sat downstairs having tea when we heard the loudest bang ever.

"There has been work going on behind our house and we honestly thought one of the big machines had toppled over or something.

"We saw it as soon as it happened.

"Within a couple of minutes, there were around 10 people surrounding the white Audi car and trying to find a way to get the boys out.

"It was the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

"No one thought about social distancing. Everyone ran to help these boys to get them out of the car. It was astonishing and such a proud moment.

"No one thought about themselves, no one thought about social distancing.

"They all thought how to save these boys' lives and it just showed what big hearts Asian people have.

"This car could have blown up at any time.

"It was catching fire - my brother ran in to get fire extinguishers while my mum was on the phone with the police."

West Yorkshire Police have since released an appeal which said four young men were trapped inside the Audi.

There were two 20-year-olds and two 19-year-olds.

All four were taken to hospital with serious injuries and the two 20-year-olds are in a serious condition.
