COFFEE shops and restaurants are starting to reopen in the city after being forced to close due to the coronavirus lockdown.

Francini Cafe De Colombia in Angel Place, Worcester, is set to reopen next week.

The café will have special measures put in place and will operate for takeaways only from 10am until 2pm.

The café will be open from Thursday, June 4 to Sunday, June 7.

Customers will be asked to use gloves and face masks to protect everyone from the deadly disease.

The Colombian café has posted on its Facebook page: “We would like to officially announce that next week, we will be opening up for TAKEAWAYS ONLY!

“Our coffee shop has been adjusted to create a safe, responsible and secure environment for our customers to grab a quick coffee and a tasty pastry.

“Safety measures will be in place and we ask our customers to please use gloves and face masks to keep yourselves and our staff safe. We can't wait to see you Amigos.”

Churchfields Farm Shop has launched a pop-up event for its customers.

The shop has started an Ice Cream Tub Drive Thru for customers to enjoy a selection of ice creams during the warm weather.

The drive thru service was available yesterday (Wednesday) from 3pm to 5pm.

The next pop-up event will be announced on the shop’s Facebook page. The farm shop has been operating a collection service during lockdown from its site in Salwarpe.

Contactless card payments are only accepted and customers are asked to have their ice cream at home in accordance to government guidelines.

Chesters Restaurant and Bar is open today (Thursday) from midday until 9pm.

A Facebook post announced that the restaurant will remain open for Friday and Saturday, however, will be closed on Sunday (May 31).

The Mexican eatery has stayed open during lockdown but has been operating a takeaway service.

Customers have been pre-ordering their food and collecting their meals from the restaurant in New Street.

The restaurant shared on its social media: “Thanks all for another good weekend, just wanting to give a heads up we will be closed this Sunday 31st May. However we will be open from midday until 9pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday! Hopefully still enough opportunity for you to get your Mexican food fix.”
