A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to a Ronkswood road.

An eyewitness said he saw a couple fighting in a communal car park in the centre of Ronkswood on Sunday evening.

He said: “The guy was throwing her around like a ragdoll. It was vicious. She was bleeding, he had no top on. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

“The police turned up, and pepper sprayed him. He didn’t even flinch. They ended up taking out poles and hitting his legs to try and get him to the floor and he was throwing punches the whole time.

“Before I knew it about four more police cars turned up and they were everywhere.

“He was handcuffed eventually and dragged into the back of a van. It was mental.”
