A CITY scaffolding company has thanked NHS staff and keyworkers with a fantastic rainbow display on one of their projects.

The team from Alan Wilks Scaffolding is currently working in Shaw Street on one of the buildings and have set up different coloured nets to make a rainbow. They have also added signs thanking NHS staff for their efforts.

Members of staff were discussing the ongoing coronavirus crisis and decided to do something to spread some much needed cheer.

James Wilks, from the firm, said: “We were all talking about everything that is going on and the NHS and key workers and wanted to give something back.

“We want to do it to keep reminding people what they do for people and with all that’s going on in the world, hopefully put a smile on people’s faces.

“The scaffolding needed netting anyway, so we thought we would do it this way. We would like to thank D & S Contractors and Worcester Municipal Charities for their support."

The building in Shaw Street is being converted into 25 new flats by Worcester Municipal Charities, aimed at housing young single people at risk of being homeless, they will be renamed Stillingfleet House after one of the Charity’s historic donors, Bishop Stillingfleet.
